Do you need a simple DIY bridal shower gift? One for all budgets? I have the answer…
I love giving gifts that are personal and/or sentimental. Don’t you? It’s that extra thought that really means the most. This past weekend I was headed to a bridal shower and I needed a last minute gift (because… procrastination.) But, I still wanted to give the bride a unique gift that I knew she would appreciate.
I found this crate at Michaels that was ideal for this DIY project. It was untreated, raw wood that would stain well. And it had four squares that would hold four wine bottles perfectly. I found it for $19.99 but with my 40% off coupon, it was around $12. I used the Early American stain by Miniwax that I already had on hand but, any stain color of your choice will do! I stained the crate and let it dry overnight.
I created these tags (print below) and printed them on tan cardstock. I thought of four different events throughout the first year of marriage that would be worth celebrating and added some cute verbiage to go along with each. Now the fun part– shopping for the wine! Here is where you can decide how much money you want to spend. I would recommend using a variety of wines unless you know specifically what the bride and groom prefer. When I was selecting the wines, I was intentional in keeping the wine bottle shape the same with all four bottles. I chose neutral wine bottle labels and paid attention to make sure the bottles looked good together and did not clash. And it never hurts to throw in some of your favorites too!
With a hole punch and some twine, I tied the tags to the bottles and placed them in the crate. This cute, thoughtful gift is ready to go! And ready to help the bride and groom celebrate each milestone in their first year of marriage!
